Man talked down off Grand Forks bridge

(Grand Forks, ND) -- A bit of a scare in Grand Forks early Thursday morning after a man climbed to the top of the Sorlie Bridge in Grand Forks.

Grand Forks Police say that around 6 a.m. officers were called to the bridge for a report of a man who climbed to the top of it. Police say travel was temporarily blocked off until a friend of the man on the bridge was able to make contact.

Authorities were then able to talk the man down. East Grand Forks Fire utilizing their ladder truck to assist in the rescue.

The man was evaluated by paramedics, and no criminal charges are being sought. There is no danger to the public and the bridge has re-opened.
