(Fargo, ND) -- Dr. Scott Jensen, the republican candidate for Governor of Minnesota has unveiled his "10 Point Greater Minnesota Prosperity Plan". He says it's aimed at supporting farmers and the rural economy.
"The farmers are getting hit every which way. First off on estate taxes, if you look at how they compare to other states, there is as significant disadvantage. Our estate taxes frequently cause the family farm to be fractured. Whose buying up the farms right now? It seems like the Chinese are," said Jensen.
Jensen unveiled the plan Tuesday afternoon at Farmfest in Morgan. Elements of the plan include reforming estate taxes to make it easier for families to keep farms within the family, improving rural roads, and appointing more people with ag backgrounds to his administration. The latest fundraising totals show incumbent Governor Tim Walz enjoying a sizable lead with $2.6 million raised to Jensen's $1 million.
