Funeral procession route announced for former Clay County Sheriff Bergquist

(Moorhead, MN) -- More details are coming involving the upcoming funeral and procession involving a beloved member of the area law enforcement community.

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting has now shared the funeral procession route that will be traveled during the late Bill Bergquist's services Monday.

The procession will take Bergquist from Nemzek to Riverside Cemetery in north Moorhead along 6th avenue south to 20th and 21st street south, under the new main underpass, to first avenue north then finally on to 11th street north until arrival at the cemetery.

Sheriff Empting says the procession route is being shared with the public in hopes to allow those to who can't attend the actual services to pay their respects.

Bergquist, a former Clay County Sheriff for nearly two decades and member of the Moorhead Police and Dilworth Fire Departments, passed away last month after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's dementia at 64.
