Majority of Cass County, West Fargo businesses pass tobacco compliance checks

(Fargo, ND) -- Some mostly good news from the latest round of tobacoo compliance checks in the area.

Ten of 13 West Fargo businesses, as well as 13 of 16 Cass County businesses recently passed the compliance checks this past week.

Fargo Cass Public Health tells WDAY Radio that the intent of the checks is to ensure retailers are not selling tobacco to people under the age of 21.

Cass County businesses that failed included:

  • Arthur Cenex – 510 S. HWY 18, Arthur, ND – first fail in one year
  • City View Fuel – 13635 54 St. SE, Enderlin, ND – first fail in one year
  • West Central Ag – 310 Dakota Ave., Harwood ND – first fail in on year

West Fargo businesses that failed included:

  • Casey’s General Store – 901 Main Avenue East – first fail in one year
  • Family Dollar – 144 Main Avenue E – first fail in one year
  • Petro Serve USA – 239 Main Avenue West - second fail in one year

The Petro Serve was the only to record a second failure in a year, leading to a three day suspension of its tobacco license.

All Cass County punishments, if any, will be imposed by the county court.
