(Fargo, ND) -- A desert social and auction will begin on Tuesday night for a local service that brings support services to jail inmates.

Gerri Leach is the Executive Director of Jail Chaplains. She joined WDAY's Bonnie and Friends to speak about their services, what will be at the auction, and sharing two stories of two people who found themselves being incarcerated and finding a community within.

"We've created - God's created this incredible relationship between the Sheriff's Office and Jail Chaplains, or basically the faith community, "said Leach, "We take Jesus into the jail, and really we offer hope and compassion to people that are broken and hurting."

The desert social is taking place at The Holiday In within the Great Hall at 6:30 p.m. The auction features many items including a Gift Certificate to Clean 4 Life Services, a quilt made from worn inmate's clothing, a catering certificate from Babb's Coffee, and more.
