(Cass County, ND) -- A Cass County sheriff candidate is denying being the source of the leak of documents related to an internal investigation.
Deputy Mathew King is challenging Sheriff Jesse Jahner in next month's election, but says he didn't release the documents.
The documents date from September 2021 and were released to WDAY Radio Monday afternoon. They contain information about an investigation into Lieutenant Tommy Ray, who accidentally sent a nude picture to a fellow deputy.
The report concluded Ray didn't violate any criminal or federal laws, but did violate the county's policy on electronic communication use. Jahner later released the full report publicly.
