Report: Fargo residents spend nearly ten percent above national average on household bills

(Fargo, ND) -- As it turns out, living in Fargo is actually fairly expensive compared to the rest of the country.

Personal Finance website doxoINSIGHTS has released its 2022 Household Spend Report, which shows that Fargo residents pay upwards of $2,197 per month on household bills, which is 9.7% higher than national average.

The report looks at total amount spent on bills per month, and also breaks down bill payments into ten different categories, including utilities, auto loans, cable bills, and more.

The following is a breakdown of what you pay on average in the city when the bill comes due:

  • Mortgage -- $1,308
  • Rent -- $818
  • Auto Loans -- $530
  • Utilities -- $364
  • Health Insurance -- $539
  • Auto Insurance -- $261
  • Cable & Internet -- $80
  • Mobile -- $83
  • Alarm & Security -- $82
  • Life Insurance -- $27

The data is tracked across over 4000 different cities across the country.
