(Dilworth, MN) -- Dilworth's Fire Department is set to have a new leader beginning Thursday.
Scott Payne has been unanimously voted to take over for Clay County Mark Empting as Fire Chief in Dilworth, beginning December 1st.
Empting has served as Fire Chief for the last nine years, and has been with the paid/on-call department for over three decades. He says he does plan to stay on in some capacity to continue to help the department.
Payne was chosen after several rounds of interviews over the past few weeks with a panel that included city officials and Empting.
