(Moorhead, MN) -- The identity of the woman who was killed Thursday night in a home in South Moorhead has been identified.

In an update to a story we've covered for you since the homicide happened Thursday evening, the Moorhead Police Department has confirmed to WDAY Radio that 56-year-old Receia Kollie was the person killed during a confrontation with the suspect, 25-year-old James Kollie Jr, at Receia's home near the intersection of 32nd street south and 38th avenue south.

Kollie Jr, who is Receia's son, was caught after nearly a day-long chase Friday evening in Wahpeton. He is being transported from the Richland County Jail to Clay County to face murder charges.

The 25-year-old had a previous violent interaction with his mother just days before the homicide took place, in which he had threatened to kill her before being taken to the Clay County Jail and released on Tuesday with a ruling to stay away from Receia Kollie and the South Moorhead home.

Kollie was found with several "multiple sharp force injuries", meaning she was stabbed to death. An autopsy done by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed her identity and cause of death Monday afternoon.

The Moorhead Police Department says they are still asking for the public's assistance in locating Receia's vehicle, a 2016 black Honda Pilot with MN plates HFE185.

"We ask those in the Wahpeton area to give attention to finding the vehicle and ask them to call local law enforcement if the vehicle is located," said the department in a statement released to WDAY Radio.

Anyone who may have seen James Kollie Jr. between Tuesday, November 29th, and Friday, December 2nd, is asked to call the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at (701) 451-7660 and ask to speak to the on-duty Moorhead Police Supervisor.
