UPDATE (7:50 a.m.) -- More details have come in on a story we've been following for you since early Friday morning.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol tells us that a Peterbilt truck hauling a semi-trailer caught on fire around 5:20 a.m. due to electrical issues early this morning between West Fargo and the Diversion bridge on I-94.

The driver of the truck, who was uninjured, attempted to put the fire out himself on the side of the highway, but was unsuccessful. The blaze ended up fully engulfing the truck, which led to a response from the West Fargo Rural Fire Department, who ended up putting out the fire.

The truck is a total loss, and I-94 was closed for about a half-hour as crews worked to put the blaze out.
