(Fargo, ND) -- We now know the identity of the man who caused quite a stir on I-94 in the Fargo area Wednesday.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol tells WDAY Radio that 43-year-old Derrick Hansen was the driver facing charges after being stopped by North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers in Fargo Wednesday for allegedly firing a gun at passing vehicles on the highway around 3 p.m.

One vehicle owner did report to the NDHP that they had a broken window because of a gunshot, but luckily no injuries were reported. Hansen was caught a short time after following a high-risk traffic stop on I-94 near Mapleton. He is currently being held at the Cass County Jail for Criminal Mischief and DUI.

More charges from the Highway Patrol are pending, and the incident remains under investigation.
