(Moorhead, MN) -- A man is behind bars after what Moorhead Police are calling a frightening scene early Thursday morning on the city's north side.

The Department says 36-year-old Joby Johnson had climbed up to a second floor balcony of an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Country Club Parkway around 1:15 a.m. and was trying to get into one of the units. He was holding a sawed-off shotgun.

Johnson was also spotted walking around the inside of the building with the gun, and eventually left it in the laundry room. A resident who called 9-1-1 told authorities that they took the gun to their apartment after Johnson left it behind.

Shortly after the call, Johnson was arrested on several charges, including disorderly conduct, possession of a short barreled shotgun and obstruction.

He is currently being held at the Clay County Jail.
