Fargo, N.D. – Fargo Cass Public Health recently conducted an alcohol compliance check on Fargo businesses to ensure establishments aren’t selling alcohol to minors.
While more than 80% passed, a half dozen failed the check.
The check covered 32 businesses last week on Friday June 13th.
The bars and restaurants that failed include the Bismarck Tavern, Empire Liquors and Tavern, a Chili’s Grill & Bar and three Applebee’s locations across the city.
All were said to be first-time offenders in the past year.
According to the penalty breakdown, a first time offense comes with a $500 fine.
A second offense raises it to $750, and a third offense carries a $1,000 penalty with liquor license suspensions depending upon the class of the license.
FCPH says they partner with local law enforcement agencies several times a year to carry out alcohol compliance checks in Fargo, West Fargo and Cass County.
