New Moorhead Citizens Government Academy aims to inform residents about the inner workings of city hall

(Fargo, ND) -- Moorhead residents now have a chance to get a behind the scenes look at how city government works.

"We're hoping to provide that deeper level of knowledge and understanding and it also gives us the opportunity to interact with some of our residents and find out what's interesting to them," said Assistant City Manager Mike Rietz.

Rietz says the city is inviting residents to participate in the first ever Citizens Government Academy. The free 7 week session is available to 24 applicants aged 18 and over. Citizens will interact with department leaders and learn about policy making. The academy runs from March 7th through April 18th. The deadline to apply is February 17th.
