Police continue investigation after Moorhead man arrested on murder charge

(Moorhead, MN) -- UDPATE: Moorhead Police Captain Deric Swenson tells WDAY News First that the name of the man who died may not be released until Monday.  

INITIAL REPORT: 

A Moorhead man is behind bars in the Clay County Jail after a heavy police presence in the city late Thursday night.

The Moorhead Police Department tells WDAY Radio that 25-year-old Douglas Swenson II was taken into custody around 1 a.m. Friday morning after finding a deceased person in his home.

Swenson was arrested after officers were called to the 3300 block of 12th street south around 11:30 p.m, when Swenson answered the door to the home in question, then became uncooperative and was tased.

BCA is on-scene investigating the crime, and no formal charges have been issued yet for Swenson.
