Fargo Public Schools hires Assistant Human Capital Director

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Public Schools has announced the hiring of Dr. Jennifer Fremstad as an Assistant Human Capital Director.

Dr. Fremstad currently serves as an assistant principal at Moorhead High School. She returns to Fargo Public Schools after serving as an assistant principal at South High School from 2005-13. She was the principal at West Fargo High School from 2013-22, and began her role at Moorhead High School in 2022. She began her career as a school administrator as the principal and athletic director at Wyndmere Public School in Wyndmere, where she served from 2004-05.

Dr. Fremstad began her educational career as an English teacher. She taught English at Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School in Glyndon, and Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C.

She served as the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals president from 2016-18, president elect from 2014-16, and Region 6 director from 2012-16. She has served as the a member of the Board of Representatives, the president elect, and president of the North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders.

Fremstad was named the 2011 North Dakota Assistant Principal of the Year, the 2020 NDASSP Region 6 Principal of the Year, and the 2021 North Dakota Principal of the Year. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of North Dakota, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota.

She will officially take over the position on April 3rd.
