(Fargo, ND) -- The effort to come up with a new growth plan for the City of Fargo is officially underway.

"We have a growth plan for the City of Fargo now that was put together in 2007 and we know that is long in the tooth," said Lombardi.

Lead consultant Peter Lombardi with the planning firm CZB made an introductory presentation Wednesday afternoon to the city planning commission, to discuss the steps in developing the new "Citywide Master Plan for Growth".

Lombardi says the effort will focus on setting direction for how much growth, where to grow, and how to grow.

He expects the plan to be finalized one year from now, and says public input will be solicited along the way.
