FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A 63-year-old Fargo man faces felony charges after investigators say he sent an explicit video and text messages to a 14-year-old girl.
Dennis Bernard Walker is charged with luring minors by computer, a Class B felony, according to court documents filed Thursday in Cass County District Court.
The investigation began May 9 when a Cass County social worker and Fargo police investigator were conducting an unrelated narcotics investigation involving the teenage victim. A family member showed investigators text messages between Walker and the teen from May 2.
Text messages requested sexual favors
In the messages, the teen asked Walker for marijuana, and he responded by asking her to “flash him” in exchange for the drug, according to charging documents. When the girl declined, Walker said he would give her the marijuana for free.
Police seized the teen’s phone and conducted a forensic examination. Investigators later examined a second phone and discovered additional messages from July 11.
In those messages, Walker asked the teen about drug paraphernalia and invited her to “come over and hang out and get naked,” court documents state. Walker then sent an explicit video to the teen, followed immediately by a message saying “Wrong person.”
Defendant admits to sending explicit content
Fargo police interviewed Walker on Nov. 19. He admitted to asking the teen to expose herself but said he was “joking,” according to court documents.
Walker also admitted to sending the explicit video but claimed it was sent to the wrong person, investigators said.
