(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy Monday night.

31-year-old Marcus Brian Rexrode was booked Thursday on charges including murder, possession of a firearm, and delivery of marijuana.

Police say there was an altercation involving a group before shots were fired at 4430 Ninth Avenue South.

Police identified the victim as West Fargo resident James Moore.

Investigators say a gun was found on the ground next to Moore after police arrived on scene.

Chief Dave Zibolski and Captain Bill Ahlfeldt would not provide details on a possible motive in the case during their press conference Thursday afternoon.

They say the investigation should continue for several more weeks.

Zibolski says investigators will also pursue anyone involved the case.
