Updated: Train and Semi collision near Casselton temporarily closes road

(Update: 3:10 p.m.) -- A semi hauling a trailer with corn was hit by a train just after noon on Friday

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened around noon today in the area of County Road 23 and County Road 10, two miles west of Casselton. The semi was traveling southbound along County Road 23, and the train was traveling westbound when they collided. 

No injures were reported by authorities, but the 18-year-old male driver was cited for care required.

The rail is closed by officials as of this publication. There is minor damage to the train and a cross arm, and there was no derailment.

(Casselton, ND) -- A Semi was hit by a train near Casselton earlier today. 

The driver is not hurt. Authorities say semis on County Highway 23 near the Ethanol plant will need to reroute, as the train is currently stopped on the crossing.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
