(Fargo, ND) -- This coming weekend is your chance to get familiar with the services provided by local ham radio operators.

"It's a multi-faceted event. We show off what we do to the public, so we usually set up in a public area, like in this case the Highway Department out by Bonanzaville, so folks can come see what amateur radio is about," said Kent Olson, a representative for Red River Radio Amateurs.

Olson says the two-day event will showcase how amateur radio works reliably under any conditions from almost any location to create an independent communications network.

The event happens both Saturday and Sunday, starting at 1:00 p.m., at the Cass County Highway Department on Main Avenue in West Fargo.
