(Moorhead, MN) — No charges will be filed in connection with a Moorhead teen killed by an accidental firearm discharge late last week.
According to police, a group of were playing with a handgun in a wooded area near Romkey Park, when the weapon went off and a bullet struck 13-year-old Zain Hussein-Mezher. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency responders, the boy died of his injuries. Clay County Attorney Brian Melton is calling the incident a tragedy rather than a criminal act.
