(Fargo, ND) -- The identity of the suspect involved in a weekend carjacking in Moorhead has been confirmed as 32-year-old Nikolas Pigozzo.

The incident occurred Saturday morning around 9:40, in the 100 block of 4th Street South.

Law enforcement officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of a male suspect stealing a vehicle at knifepoint.

The victim complied with the suspect's demands, and the suspect fled the area.

A citizen equipped with personal video recording equipment captured the entire event on camera.

Thanks to a recent encounter between the suspect and a law enforcement officer, Pigozzo was quickly identified as the individual involved in the crime.

Authorities have successfully recovered the victim's stolen vehicle in Minneapolis.

A warrant has been issued for Pigozzo's arrest.

The pending charges against him include First Degree Aggravated Robbery and Second Degree Assault.

Pigozzo's whereabouts remain unknown.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information on his location or activities to contact local authorities immediately.

Pigozzo should not be approached by citizens, as he is considered potentially dangerous.
