Hazen man sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for drug charges and high speed chase

(Hazen, ND) -- A man accused of trafficking drugs into North Dakota is being sentenced to time in federal prison.  

Hazen resident Ronald Newhauser was charged for bringing meth and heroin from California into the state in 2020. Drugs and thousands of dollars in crash were found in his vehicle following a police chase that reached speeds of up to 100 miles-an-hour. Newhauser has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in federal prison, along with ten years of supervised following his release.
