(CASS COUNTY, ND) — Two Fargo men have been arrested after a pair of Sunday incidents in Cass County.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, at 9:20 a.m. Sunday morning, the Sheriff’s Office and West Fargo Police Department responded to an apartment complex in the 2200 block of 6th Avenue North in West Fargo on a report of a male with a gun banging on an apartment door. While units were en route, the reporting party stated the man fired a gunshot inside the apartment complex hallway. When authorities arrived on scene, the man had fled, and authorities were unable to locate the responsible party. There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, law enforcement responded to an apartment complex in the 700 block of 23rd Street South, where a caller reported they were assaulted by a man, who later brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot the caller. Once authorities arrived on scene, a foot pursuit ensued after a male, who matched the description of the suspect, fled. He was arrested several blocks later. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Fargo resident, Pasqual Lawia, for several criminal charges and a bench warrant. The criminal charges include terrorizing, a Class C Felony; and reckless endangerment, a Class A Misdemeanor. A report is being sent to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office requesting domestic violence charges for Pasqual.
Arrested in connection with the morning shooting incident was Pasqual’s 26-year-old brother, Mark Lawia, a Fargo resident. He’s being charged with five counts, including a Class C Felony terrorizing charge, Class C Felony possession of paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor for false information to law enforcement, and a Class B Misdemeanor for failing to halt. Mark Lawia was also wanted on a bench warrant for false information to law enforcement and possession of paraphernalia.
A firearm was seized at the scene of Pasqual’s arrest.
The case remains active and ongoing.
