West Fargo Fire Department K9 Mika receives donated body armor

(Fargo, ND) -- West Fargo Fire Department’s K9 Mika has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation.  

The vest was donated by the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s. 

Mika’s vest was sponsored by Don and Misty Fike of Galesburg, IL.

The vest is embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always”. 

Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s has provided nearly 5,290 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million.

The donations are made possible by both private and corporate donations.
