Fargo Police Chief grateful for how fund is being used to support officers and families impacted by shooting

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski is expressing gratitude for the Leadership Care Fund, which has played a key role in providing support to officers and their families impacted by the July 14th shooting.    

"Yeah, it's really amazing. That started out as an internal mechanism when those folks were putting that together. When the tragedy struck they were already situated as a 501(c)(3) so they were able to kind of open up that opportunity and I think people felt maybe a little more secure in donating to that fund that was set up by folks that at least work here," said Zibolski.  

Since the shooting, more than one thousand community donors have contributed to the fund, including a check for more than $42 thousand from "Lend a Hand Up." 

Chief Zibolski says Officer Tyler Hawes has been back at work for the past week and a half, on limited part time duty as he continues to recuperate.  

Officer Andrew Dotas continues to recuperate at home. 

Zachary Robinson, who has been back at work for some time , recently went back out on leave for the birth of a child.
