(Fargo, ND) -- Survivors of domestic violence and homelessness in Fargo have a new place to find some resources and peace of mind.

The YWCA opened a new apartment complex on 32nd Avenue South this week which can house up to 60 people. It has taken two years and over $8 million to see the 23 apartments become a reality.

“For more than a century, YWCA Cass Clay has responded to the changing needs of our community. With Lantern Light, YWCA answers the call for homes affordable and supportive to trauma survivors,” said Erin Prochnow, YWCA Cass Clay CEO. “With our reliable presence in their lives – every day and in many ways - Lantern Light becomes their bridge to long-term economic stability."

The complex is next to the Red River and features a community room for residents and a playground for the kids.
