(Fargo, ND) -- A mail survey of Fargo voters is showing support of switching from a City Commission to City Council style government.

The claim comes from the Upper Midwest Center on Public Policy at North Dakota State University. The survey found 49.4% of respondents would support switching to a City Council style of governance, where members would represent specific districts in the city instead of representing the city at-large. That's compared to 19.9% who would not support a change.

Of the 2,000 surveys that were sent to Fargo residents that previously voted, 549 responses were sent back.
