Man arrested in Fargo after brief chase and foot pursuit faces multiple charges

(Fargo, ND) -- A local man is in custody after he led a state trooper on a high-speed chase through North Fargo hours before dawn on Friday.  

Authorities say motorist Michael Swanson was behind the wheel when the trooper attempted a traffic stop around 2 a.m., at which point Swanson fled for a short distance before jumping out of the vehicle and entering a residence in the 2200 block of 9th Street North.  Sometime later, the trooper arrested and handed Swanson off to Fargo police and county deputies.  

Swanson was subsequently charged with DUI, DUI refusal, driving under revocation, resisting arrest and fleeing. A court date is pending.
