(Fargo, ND) -- A North Dakota Highway Patrol captain says the number of traffic accidents on area highways related to the wintry weather is relatively few.

"The traffic that is out here is kind of driving for those conditions and we are happy to see that and there is not a lot of traffic like we would see normally for a Monday which is kind of helped us I think," said Bryan Niewind.

Bryan Niewind says there have been "a few jackknifed semis" in the area of valley city.

He also says one big rig went off I-94 just north of Fargo Monday morning.

Niewind appeared on WDAY Mid Day.
