UPDATE: Worker dead after incident at Mid America Steel in North Fargo

 

Update (4:20pm 7/25)  The Fargo Police Department has identified the person who died as 42-year old Tuah Kollie who was a West Fargo resident

 

Update (12:25 PM 7/24) – An employee has died in a work-related incident at Mid America Steel according to Fargo Police.

They died after being taken into an ambulance.

The department said the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation and the person’s name has not became public so their family can be notified.

Flag Family News asked a police spokesperson if the person who died works for Mid America Steel or another company and if they died in the ambulance or at the hospital.

“All available information that is releasable at this time was included in the press release,” Katie Ettish said.

 

FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo Fire Department responded to the Mid America Steel on the 5100 block of 19th Avenue North around 9:45 Thursday morning.

Several fire trucks were at the company’s headquarters with firefighters near what appeared to be a shipping or receiving area. An ambulance with emergency lights on was seen leaving the company’s headquarters.

Flag Family News has reached out to the Fargo Fire Department and Mid America Steel for comment.

The company, which is near the North Dakota State University Equine Center, fabricates structural steel, pressure vessels, tanks, rebar and plate steel according to its website.
