Armstrong appoints former Fargo city prosecutor to judgeship

FARGO, N.D. — Governor Kelly Armstrong has appointed a former Fargo City prosecutor to an open judgeship.

Scott Diamond will take the judgeship in the East Central Judicial District, effective February 1.

He served as City Prosecutor in Fargo for a period of five years before serving as an alternate municipal court judge for the cities of Fargo and West Fargo and then a judicial referee, which he’s done since 2023.

He’ll replace Nick Chase, who is currently serving as the U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota.
