Armstrong veto on state employee health insurance changes stands

(BISMARCK, ND) – North Dakota Senators have failed to override a veto by Governor Kelly Armstrong.

Earlier this week, Armstrong issued a veto to Senate BIll 2160, a bill that would have made changes to the state’s health insurance plan.

Senator Kyle Davison said the state’s looking to move from a grandfathered plan to a non-grandfathered plan, which are referred to as new plans.

The Senate’s veto attempt failed by a single vote, 31-15.
