FARGO, ND — The Fargo Police Department is warning the public about a scam that involves a fake letter that’s being mailed to people.
The letter claims that the victim will receive a large amount of money from the deceased client of a law firm, and requests the victim’s banking information. Police say law firms will never request your banking information through a letter.
Authorities say if you receive a letter like this, you should report it to law enforcement.
