FARGO – New information is being released regarding an incident Wednesday morning in Horace that led to the death of a 23-year-old woman.
Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner identified that woman as Sakeena Khaadi.
The Sheriff said Khaadi 21-year-old Derrick Lobbo were in a boyfriend-girlfriend type relationship. Lobbo was arrested near the scene on outstanding warrants – along with child neglect and reckless endangerment charges.
A two-year-old child, belonging to Lobbo, was found inside of the apartment. The local Human Service Zone was called to the scene to assist in proper safe placement for the child, who was released to Lobbo’s father, according to Jahner.
Cass County State’s Attorney Kim Hegvik said no additional charges were initially filed, but additional formal charges are expected.
“But we want to make sure that we are fully reviewing the entire investigation to make sure that we get it right,” she said.
Hegvik would not speculate on what charges may be filed in the case, saying her office still has ‘a lot of information to get through.’
Lobbo will make an appearance in front of a judge soon, likely on a probable cause finding.
“That’s when the judge will determine whether bail is appropriate and how much that bail will be,” Hegvik said. “And like I said, I anticipate formal charges being filed.”
