Authorities say Becker Co. motorcycle crash was alcohol-related

BECKER COUNTY, Minn. – Two people are hospitalized after a crash the Becker County Sheriff’s Office believes was alcohol-related.

A 911 call came in around 8:30 Monday night about a motorcycle crash on County Road 56 east of County Road 117 in Toad Lake Township. Authorities say the driver, 26-year-old Jacob Riggle of Waubun, was taken by ambulance to a Detroit Lakes hospital. Twenty-three-year-old Asia Bevins of Ogema, the passenger, was life-flighted to a Fargo hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office says Riggle and Bevins weren’t wearing helmets.

The crash remains under investigation.

Court records show Riggle was convicted of DWI in Sibley County and open bottle in Becker County in 2020 and underage drinking and driving in Norman County in 2018.

Court records show Bevins was convicted of DWI in Mahnomen County in 2023 and 2024.
