Barnesville police provide more details on stabbing incident

BARNESVILLE, Minn. (Valley News Live) – The Barnesville Police Department has provided more details on an August 8 stabbing that sent three people to the hospital.

According to the release, officials responded to a domestic assault incident involving a knife at 905 2nd Avenue SE in Barnesville. When they arrived, they found that three adults had suffered knife-related injuries.

An investigation determined that Chad Lane attempted to cut his brother with a knife during an argument. His brother and 72-year-old mother were injured during a struggle to take the knife away.

Lane was arrested on August 10 and is being held at the Clay County Jail. He faces charges of 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon and 5th degree assault.

No other suspects are being sought by law enforcement for this incident.
