Canadian National train derails near Warroad

WARROAD, MINN. – Officials near Warroad, Minn., are dealing with a train derailment.

An official with Canadian National Railway told Flag Family News, in a statement, that the derailment happened just before 5 a.m. Saturday north of Warroad.

The preliminary assessment reveals a total of 17 rail cars involved. Canadian National says the cars ‘have derailed in various positions.’ No leaks, injuries or fires have been reported, and no crossings have been impacted.

“CN crews and local first responders are attending to the scene,” the company said in a statement.

The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
