Case of child attacked by dogs in Chaffee still under review for possible charges

UPDATE – Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner said his office has forwarded a report to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office for a consideration of charges following a dog attack last month.

Deputies were called to a home in Chaffee December 30 after a caller said a nine-year-old had multiple bites from a pair of dogs that entered the family’s yard.

The child was taken to the hospital with extensive injuries.

Jahner says the rottweilers’ owners were identified.

Cass County State’s Attorney Kim Hegvik tells Flag Family News the case is under review for possible charges.

 

CHAFFEE, N.D. – A nine-year-old was sent to the hospital after they’re bitten by two rottweilers multiple times in Chaffee, North Dakota.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Casselton Ambulance responded to a home around 4:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30.

Authorities say the child has extensive injuries and the dogs, who aren’t owned by the child’s parents, have been impounded.
