(FARGO) — The Cass County Commission is seeking qualified applicants to serve as an interim board member on the Maple River Water Resource District. The Maple River Water Resource District is a political subdivision responsible for managing surface water resources within its jurisdiction, including management of surface drainage, tile drainage, floodwater retention, and flood protection projects.
This is an interim position and will serve, pending County Commission appointment, from October 8, 2024, to December 31, 2024. Applications for the full term will be available in November.
Major functions of the position include attending all meetings of the district; developing, constructing, and operating water infrastructure; managing assessment projects and assessment funds; mediating water disputes; managing district staff and consultants; cooperating and coordinating with the County Commission and County staff; and other tasks necessary for the management of water and water infrastructure.
