(CASS COUNTY, ND) — Cass County officials have enacted a burn ban.
The Cass County Board of Commissioners has declared a fire emergency and enacted burn restrictions through May 19, 2025, due to abundant dry vegetation and ongoing hot, dry, and windy weather conditions.
North Dakota Rangeland Fire Danger Rating for Cass County is classified as High, Very High, or Extreme, or when a Red Flag Warning is issued.
Open burning is restricted during the ban, with exceptions for controlled devices that have an extinguisher or water source immediately available.
Violating the ban is a Class B misdemeanor.
