Cement truck and semi collide leaving driver dead in Cass County

Cass County, N.D. – A man was killed when a cement truck and a semi crashed Wednesday night in Cass County.

Around 8:25pm, North Dakota Highway Patrol says the cement truck was driving westbound on County Road 26.

Authorities say the truck went right through an intersection without stopping at Highway 18.

That’s when the semi, which was carrying a load of potatoes, hit the truck.

The semi’s trailer detached and spilled the produce into a ditch.

The 34-year old driver of the truck, who hailed from Florida and wasn’t wearing a seat belt, died.

The other driver, a 78-year old man from Minto, suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
