MOORHEAD, Minn. – A seven-year-old who was riding a bicycle is hurt after being struck by a pickup on Wednesday, September 17.
Moorhead Police say the child entered a crosswalk on the 4100 block of 14th Street South and collided with a truck. This happened near SG Reinertsen Elementary and Brookdale Baptist Church around 5:00 PM.
Authorities say the child was wearing a helmet and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The department says their condition is unknown.
The pickup driver, Pamela Wold of Moorhead, was cited for failure to yield.
The crash happened near where nine-year-old Adam Amin of Moorhead was struck and killed by a city Mack truck.
Moorhead Police reminds drivers to slow down and remain alert, especially in areas where children may be.
“Safety on our roadways is a shared responsibility,” the department said in a release sent to Flag Family News.
