FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – During an event at the Civic Center, Mayor Tim Mahoney joined in on opening the time capsule. Some of the items inside included TV guides, TV films, a telephone, and some memorabilia from the Fargo-Moorhead Centennial back in 1975.
“I was surprised to see that there was some of the banners and some of the other things from the centennial back there. It was fun to see some of the physical articles, but also neat to kind of get an idea from the paperwork, the records, and all that, exactly what life was like back then. How much things cost, and the things that were of importance to people,” said Cindy Mason, a Children’s Librarian.
Some of the items will go to Bonanzaville USA, while others will go to the NDSU archives.
Mayor Mahoney is hoping to do another time capsule sometime next year.
