FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The City of Fargo is requesting private developers to submit written proposals for the development of a new convention center.
The idea of a new convention center was approved by Fargo voters back in November, 2024.
In order to pay for the center, the city will see an increase in lodging tax from 3% to 5% for the next 25 years.
They’ve since created a Convention Center Project Committee, who’ve been working to obtain site locations and developers for months.
The 14-member committee prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP), which was approved by City Commissioners on Monday, June 9.
Developers can access the RFP here. Using The City of Fargo Procurement Portal, interested parties can follow the prompts and submit a proposal.
The city says you can submit proposals until Thursday, August 7, until 5 p.m.
The Convention Center Project Committee will review the proposals and present a recommendation to city commissioners, who will then vote on whether to approve it.
