FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Clay County public defender has plead not guilty after facing domestic violence charges.

Police were called to an apartment on May 14 after two people reported hearing yelling and screaming coming from the unit.

Documents say the downstairs neighbor heard a woman screaming “help” and calling for neighbors, followed by a loud banging that sounded like someone being dragged or thrown around.

The victim told officers that Dustin Andruski pushed her, and flipped furniture in her room, causing an injury to her left elbow.

Documents say Andruski told officers that the victim had hit him in the face, and said he never touched her.

Andruski was arrested and charged with domestic violence-bodily injury.

He is scheduled to make his next court appearance on August 8.
