FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – It’s the first Wednesday of the month, Aug. 6. If you live in Fargo, you’ll hear the sirens go off around 1 p.m.
City officials do this test on the first Wednesday of every month to make sure they are working in case of a real emergency.
Moving forward, the City will provide a heads-up before these monthly tests.
They are also implementing a notification process for any situation that requires sirens to be activated due to repairs, maintenance or trouble shooting.
The changes stem from community concern and confusion after the sirens went off on July 22, a Tuesday.
That siren test had to do with the demolition of a water tower. Siren communications equipment had to be removed from the water tower temporarily.
The sirens were tested after the move to ensure they were working.
