BATTLE LAKE, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A community search is planned this weekend in Battle Lake, Minnesota to find 25-year-old Isadora Wengel.
It’s scheduled for Sunday, February 22, at Lions Park across from the West Battle Lake Access.
According to organizers, specific search areas, maps and flyers will be handed out to volunteers upon arrival.
They also advise attendees that cold weather is expected, with temperatures in the low 20s and new snow on the ground. They said participants should dress warmly and bring their own food and drinks.
Walking sticks or ski poles are also encouraged for the search efforts.
Nearly 100 volunteers gathered at Dike East Park on Sunday, February 15, to search for evidence after police said she was “heinously murdered,” and indicated her body has not been found.
Authorities have asked the public to look for an HDX 27-gallon black storage tote they believe contains critical evidence in her death.

Wengel’s boyfriend, Joshua Hite, has been charged with murder, tampering with evidence and giving police false information in connection with Wengel’s death.
