LISTEN: North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer’s conversation with Scott Hennen
WASHINGTON – On The Flag, North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer said he’s not a fan of taking oil from Venezuela and selling it in markets including in the United States since our country can produce it much better.
In an interview with NBC News, President Donald Trump said the U.S. will subsidize oil companies for rebuilding Venezuela’s infrastructure.
“If we’re going to subsidize anybody, let’s subsidize the refiners and have them set the refineries for light, sweet crude that’s much more efficient and cleaner,” Cramer said on “What’s On Your Mind?”
Venezuelan oil is known to be heavy and sour which Cramer said Gulf Coast refineries can deal with.
“I’ve gone from drill, baby, drill to drill America first, baby,” Cramer said.
